The Golden Triangle?
There's plenty of technology that as immersive as it is, doesn't actually lead to great learning outcomes. Sometimes they are:
- Too expensive to reach the desired audience at scale
- Impressive looking but cognitively distracting (think Uncanny Valley)
- Initially immersive but as they become out of date, often due to cost constraints, less and less compelling.
Research tell us that for an engaging experience the 'golden triangle' of relevance, authenticity and safety are all key requirements; but achieving these things is easier said than done:
- Relevance implies specificity, the more specific you can be to an audience the more meaning your content has but how do you do that without costs spiralling?
- Authenticity - to many people his implies (expensive) hi-fidelity experiences but there are other (less expensive) ways of achieving this
- 'Safety' is touted as a key but many less confident learners find complex learning interventions quite intimidating.
By facing into these issues, Applio has been designed to create engagement without, frankly, becoming a money pit.
